The agricultural department is based at Merryweathers Doncaster office and
operates throughout Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, North Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
Extensive agricultural estates are managed varying from those owned by traditional
landed families to estates and farms aquired and managed on behalf of financial
institutions.
Valuations are undertaken for end of year stocktaking purposes, Capital Gains and
Inheritance Tax, marital and family purposes and many other purposes.
The department acts on many occasions in matters relating to the compulsory
acquisition of land by Government Departments, Local Authorities, or Statutory
Undertakers including compensation relating to the laying of pipelines.
The department is headed by Peter Horne FRICS FAAV who is also a member of the
Lord's Chancellor's Panel of agricultural arbitrators. Peter is assisted by
Jeremy Muntus MRICS who specialises in compulsory purchase compensation,
coal mining subsidence and environmental grant schemes. |
